How To Increase Sperm Count In Men

Ditch your burgers and pizzas and switch to fish, fruits and green vegetables if you want to improve your sperm health.

Turns out that pizza, fries, sweets and sodas are the worst enemies of a man’s reproductive health while fish, fruits, chicken and veggies are the BFFs of his sperm. According to a study published in JAMA Network Open, men who love gorging on pizza, fries, sweets, sodas and red and processed meats had a lower sperm count by about 26 million. They also reported depleted levels of other re essential reproductive hormones.

The study further noted that men whose meals included sufficient fish, chicken, vegetables, fruits, and water had about 46 million more sperms than those who ate less of these foods. General wisdom in the field suggests that the normal count ranges from 15 million to 200 million sperms per ml of semen. So, here we come, with a list of foods that will keep your sperm count in the healthy range. make sure you have enough of them in your meals.

Fish: It comprises of Vitamin B-12, an important nutrient that helps in improving sperm motility. This vitamin also increases sperm count, and reduces DNA damage of sperm.

Orange and other fruits: Orange is a flavourful fruit which contains lots of vitamin C. Studies reveal that this citrus fruit improves sperm motility, count, and morphology. However, apart from orange, there are other fruits that are rich in this vitamin: Kiwi, watermelon, pineapple, mango.

Dark and leafy vegetables: Green veggies with vitamin B ( lettuce, sprouts, asparagus, etc.) always come with a host of health benefits when you are trying to eat healthy. They also They help in producing stronger and better sperm.

Dark chocolate: If you are craving for something sweet and cannot refrain yourself from eating chocolates, don’t worry. Just switch to dark chocolates. They contain arginine, an amino acid that can improve sperm count and quality over time.

Fortified milk and yogurt: Fortified milk products like yogurt, cheese, etc. contain extra nutrients likevitamin  D which has been linked to increased testosterone (sex hormone) This hormone is known to increase your sperm motility.

Whole grains and nuts: Whole grains contain vitamin B, a nutrient that increase your testosterone levels. Nuts, on the other hand, are rich in antioxidants and vitamin E which may help improve sperm quality. Vitamin E has antioxidant properties that protect sperm from damage.

Chicken: Chicken contains coenzyme Q10, which is an antioxidant. All living cells need it to function properly. It can increase semen quality.
