It has been an interesting week for K’swagg and Kurl Songx as rapper Sarkodie joins the conversation to share what He thinks about the situation.
It was earlier reported that fast rising Rapper K’Swagg has made allegations against Jennifer Lomotey hit makers Kurl Songx on requesting GhC 6,000 after he had been called for a video shoot to “I want you” a song he charged GhC 1,500 to feature.
After the video was uploaded on Hitz FM’s Instagram page, Award winning Rapper Sarkodie and BBNzLive’s Ko-Jo Cue have jumped to the ‘defense’ of Kurl Songx whiles also throwing a word of “advice” on discussing sensitive matters like that on Radio.
Sarkodie commented by saying,
“Y’all don’t get it twisted, First off music is a full time job … Its a choice you give service for free but not a must … If you lucky to get one’s service for free, you Thank the person but it ain’t a must. Don’t make it seem like @kurl_songx was wrong, I’m pretty sure there are loads of features he’s done with no fee due to several reasons… New acts coming up should b careful how they treat these issues, you will soon get there . I don’t think it was necessary to sit here and discuss personal business. Not good for both parties.”
Half of the Pen And Paper Duo Ko-Jo Cue also chipped in saying,
“There’s a reason he wanted Kurl Songx on the track when there are 1000s of other people who can sing. If he didn’t think Kurl was worth the money, he could’ve called anybody else. It’s time we start treating music like the business it is. Doing features for free is a great thing, but there’s nothing wrong with charging for features … a Drake verse costs $100,000 but when he feels like it he gifts people verses … I feel the pain of the young artist but if you didn’t think Kurl was worth the price, you shouldn’t have paid. Kurl Songx did nothing wrong.”
Lot of people have also shared their views on the matter, some in support of what these two music gaints have said and some not so happy with what had been said
Below is the song that sparked the whole issue.
