Celebrated African photographers TwinsDontBeg have once again inked the name in the history books after been one of the photographers for the red carpet and backstage shot at the NAACP Image Awards in California, with the help of Dentaa Show and GUBA Awards.It was a celebration of black excellence Hosted by “black-ish” star Anthony Anderson, the ceremony aired live Saturday night on BET from the Pasadena Civic Center Auditorium.
This Award scheme saw the likes of popular figures like Rihanna, Storm Reid, Janelle Monae, Lizzo were all present at the event. One of the of the few people who got the attention of many was Ghana’s very own Photographer TwinsDntBeg.
TwinsDontBeg was in the mix of most popular Hollywood stars last Saturday. The renowned photographer was seen with international celebrities like Rihana, Leland B. Martin, Michael B. Jordan, Angela Basset, Jamie Foxx etc. Samuel and Emmanuel are really trying their best to put Ghana on the map when it comes to photography.

Known in real life as Samuel Appiah Gyan and Emmanuel Appiah Gyan are renowned photographers in Ghana and are known to have attained recognition through hard work and perseverance and not through long standing goodwill. Born on Monday April 3, 1989 in Kumasi, they studied Agriculture with a major in Post-Harvest Technology and Landscape Management and Architecture respectively at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
In Ghana, one name that comes up readily among those successfully clinging on to the profession of photography in the face of the ‘onslaught’ by smartphone photography is TWINSDNTBEG (Twins Don’t Beg) of SWAGOFAFRICA NEWS. Sammy and Emma winners of Best nightlife Photographers of the year at the Ghana Nightlife Awards are currently the official cinematographers of the President of the Republic of Ghana and the social media handlers for Mrs Samira Bawumia, the wife of the Vice President of Ghana.
In recognition of their sterling work as celebrity photographers, Twinsdntbeg was voted the 2018 Most Influential Young Ghanaians in the Lifestyle Category of the Avance Media 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians Awards 2018. The duo has worked with high profile personalities, celebrities and events including the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo, Becca, Akosua Vee, Efya, DKB, the Ghana Music Awards 2017, Ghana Meets Naija and Miss Malaika 2017 pageant.
It is, therefore, not surprising that they have worked with many bigwigs in the UK, Nigeria and Ghana including, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his lovely wife, Madam Rebecca as well as the Second Lady of Ghana, Mrs Samira Bawumia, who has generally been described as a super beauty and incredibly photogenic.
